ABOUT THE ARTIST

I began painting at a very young age and won a city-wide scholarship to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Over the years, I have done many commissioned projects and portraits including a painting for Craig Biggio of the Houston Astros that was presented to him on the field and a commissioned piece for Cynthia Cooper former MVP of the Houston Comets. My work has been auctioned at the Houston Grand Opera Ball, the Houston Downs Syndrome Association and other charity events. I also create unique jewelry pieces from my original artwork. Clients include Amy Grant, Styx, Sonny Emory (Bette Midler, Earth, Wind and Fire), Hank Williams Jr. Band, Mother's Finest, actresses, rockstar wives and other celebrities.

Growing emotionally and spiritually through life experience and tremendous loss and hardships have been a part of my journey and translated through my work. My beautiful and loving daughters and friends are a constant inspiration. I have learned that God IS love. The true meaning of that statement became very clear when I was faced with holding my dying mother's hand hours before she passed away and losing my brother suddenly. When your foundation is rocked and your personal world is stripped to the most basic of things and all of the chaos comes to a halt … the importance of what really matters becomes crystal clear. These are the times when our true essence can emerge and our greatest gifts can be given and received. This is the place where the heart has a voice and no ego or pride exists. I try to stay positive, laugh often and trust my inner voice that comes from above. To be able to combine what I do with helping others through various charities is near and dear to my heart.

My style ranges from realistic portraits to vivid abstracts. I am also beginning some new phases in my career including merchandising (unique designs and products for concerts, etc.) and opening a new studio in Houston where I will have shows, teach and sell my unique creations.
